Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh: In an unfortunate incident, at least 10 died after a car carrying devotees from Chhattisgarh to Maha Kumbh crashed with a bus. The incident occurred on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway under PS Meja on Friday around midnight. DCP Yamunanagar Vivek Chandra Yadav informed that the bodies have been transferred to Swaroop Rani Medical Hospital for a post-mortem examination. More details are awaited.

As per the latest update, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the road accident and expressed his condolences to the deceased individual’s family. He directed the officials to immediately rush to the accident spot and expedite the relief efforts. Meanwhile, he has also directed the district administration officials to ensure proper treatment for the injured.
In yet another incident on Wednesday, 4 Maha Kumbh pilgrims were killed while 13 sustained injuries after a major accident took place on the Kanpur-Prayagraj Highway. They were en route to the Kumbh Mela to take Snan at the Triveni Sangam on the occasion of the Magh Purnima. According to reports, a bus with 21 pilgrims on board was traveling from Delhi’s Uttam Nagar to Prayagraj when it collided with a dumper near Dudhi Kagar turn on the Highway.
