Uttar Pradesh: 5 dead, several injured as Roadways Bus falls off Bridge in Lucknow

The bus was on its way from Hardoi city when the driver allegedly hit a water tanker and plunged into a 20-foot ditch after losing control.

Uttar Pradesh: At least 5 people reportedly died while several were injured in a bus accident that took place in Kakori, Lucknow on Thursday. According to information received, a roadway bus en route from Hardoi to Kaiserbagh fell off a bridge and into a ditch, leaving many passengers injured in the tragic incident. Local Police, Malihabad Police, and Fire Teams rushed to the accident spot.

Rescue operations are currently underway. The injured were pulled out of the vehicle and taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. The bus was on its way from Hardoi city when the driver allegedly hit a water tanker and plunged into a 20-foot ditch after losing control.

According to reports, the bus overturned into a deep ditch while trying to save two bikers. Both motorists have died in the accident. A huge crowd had gathered at the incident spot. At the time of the incident, a road construction work was ongoing at the accident site.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district officials to carry out the rescue operation immediately.
