Uttar Pradesh: Police reported that a speeding truck collided head-on with a bus on Sunday afternoon, resulting in six fatalities and over 20 injuries. The collision occurred near Jamaldipur village on the Hardoi-Unnao road in the Safipur police station area. Following the accident, the bus driver fled the scene, while authorities arrested the truck driver.

Injured individuals were referred from the community health center in Safipur to district hospitals in Unnao and Kanpur. Circle Officer Safipur, Rishikant Shukla, confirmed the casualty count, stating that the bus was carrying 35 passengers. Of the injured, 11 were transferred to Kanpur, and 9 were taken to the district hospital in Unnao. Passengers with minor injuries received first-aid treatment and were discharged.
Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, as authorities continue to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, on April 25, an infant was among the six individuals killed in a collision between their car and a stationary truck on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway. The accident occurred on Thursday morning as the victims, residents of Hyderabad, were traveling to Vijayawada.
The car collided with the truck, which had broken down and was parked on the side of the highway. Tragically, all six occupants of the car lost their lives in the crash. More details awaited.
