Moradabad: Five people were killed, while seven others were injured when a fire broke out in a multi-storied building in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad. Moradabad District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh said the fire broke out in a three-storied building.
The fire reportedly broke out at a wedding venue in Moradabad during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
“Five people lost their lives while seven were injured after fire broke out in a 3-storied building in Moradabad. People of the same family were residing in the building. Fire dept conducting a further probe to ascertain the reason,” Moradabad DM Shailendra Kumar Singh was quoted as saying by ANI.
He said five people died in the incident and seven were rescued from the building and taken to hospital for treatment. According to reports, the residents of the building belonged to the same family.
Around five fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control. The crowd present at the spot helped rescue seven people from the fire.
