The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has arranged 350 shuttle busses to make travel easier for devotees during Maha Kumbh 2025. The Maha Kumbh 2025 will be held in Prayagraj, as per a statement released on Saturday.
As per the release, a team of 22 officers will monitor the system’s efficiency and ensure smooth operations of the Maha Kumbh 2025. Service Manager from Moradabad, Anurag Yadav, has been appointed as in-charge of the initiative.
The Maha Kumbh 2025 is going to start from 13th January 2025 to February 26, 2024. Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh mentioned that, to handle the situation like an emergency, a Quick Response Teams have been put on the 7 roads to Prayagraj.
These teams will have interceptor vehicles, with technical staff and Transport Corporation enforcement officers. The team will manage the eve so that things happen in a proper way.
He further informed that eight temporary bus stations have been built within the fair area to manage the influx of visitors. These stations are staffed by Chief Manager-level officers from the headquarters, supported by retired advisors.
Additionally, temporary workshops have been set up near these bus stations to address any technical problems in buses arriving from outside regions, as per the release.
According to the Transport Minister, 2000 busses will be there for the first phase of the Maha Kumbh.
For the main bathing dates in the second phase, the number will increase significantly, with 7,000 buses–including 6,800 ordinary buses and 200 AC buses–operational on Mauni Amavasya, one of the most significant bathing festivals.
Apart from this 200 buses will be operational during this fair. MD, Transport Corporation, Masoom Ali Sarwar, stated that under the instructions of the Transport Minister, the Transport Corporation has accelerated preparations for Mahakumbh 2025.
He further mentioned that Gaurav Verma has been appointed as the fair officer for the Transport Corporation. Mobile diesel dispensing units, referred to as “browsers,” will be stationed at temporary bus depots to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply.
