Jyoti informed her family that she was invited to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) for training. She mentioned that she was selected for the Indian Foreign Services (IFS), and her posting was in Spain. Until a few days ago, Jyoti had been posted in Spain after completing her training at LBSNAA for her family. However, now that the matter has intensified on social media, it has come to light that the reality is something else.
Here is the truth about Jyoti Mishra:
She never went to Spain, she was never appointed as an IFS officer, and she never attended LBSNAA (Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration). Jyoti herself has revealed these facts to the India Today group. So, how did such a misunderstanding spread?
In reality, Jyoti got trapped in her own web of lies. It started with one lie, then another to cover it up, and this cycle continued.
How did the lie spread?
Vikas Bhadauria and Balakrishna, associated with India Today, reported on this case. According to their report, Jyoti Mishra mentioned that she had asked her father for money for IAS coaching. Her father agreed with great difficulty. He saved money for Jyoti’s wedding, which he then used for her coaching. Jyoti took the UPSC exam in 2020 but did not succeed. She attempted again in 2021 without success. The result of the 2021 exam came out in 2022.

Jyoti’s younger sister, Aarti, checked the UPSC result this year. She saw Jyoti’s name.
To maintain the false narrative Jyoti Mishra fabricated stories about her association with LBSNAA, IFS, and Spain. She claimed to have studied Spanish in Spain and falsely asserted IFS because she believed it would be less likely to fabricate residency compared to other civil services.
Furthermore, a significant aspect is that when she claimed to have gone to Spain, she didn’t even have a passport at that time. However, this detail went unnoticed.
Jyoti currently works in a semi-government company in Delhi. Her income is sufficient to cover essential expenses without needing financial support from home. Due to fear of being caught in her lie, she has only visited her home once in the past two and a half years.
Jyoti Mishra’s father, Suresh Mishra, revealed that he had immense trust in his daughter and never questioned her claims. He never verified her results nor asked for Jyoti’s roll number. He mentioned that during these times, Jyoti would call him on WhatsApp but never engaged in video calls or sent any photos of her training or posting. Despite urging her several times to send photos, Jyoti always avoided the topic. Suresh expressed deep disappointment and is currently saddened by the situation.
