According to reports, the recommendations range from appointing female security guards on school buses to only female staff handling women-specific clothing in stores.
The proposals put forward by Women’s commission were discussed at the October 28 meeting held in Lucknow. These include:
No Male Tailors Should Take Women’s Measurements: The proposal noted that no male tailors should be allowed to take measurements of women in clothing stores.
Female Trainers In Fitness Centres: The commission suggested that only female trainers should work with women in gyms, yoga centers, and fitness centers.

“On October 28, at the women’s commission meeting, a proposal was floated that only female tailors should be allowed to take measurements of stitched clothes worn by women. CCTVs should be installed in these areas,” Himani Agarwal, a member of the women’s panel told PTI.
These above important recommendations put forward by the Women’s Commission are aimed at minimizing the risk of harassment and ensure women safety.
According to TOI, the feasibility of these proposals is still in the preliminary stages. After finalization, these proposals would be presented to the government, followed by the drafting of policies.
Meanwhile, some of the districts have already begun to implement these guidelines. In the Shamli district, probation officer Hamid Hussain suggested employing female trainers or teachers in women-specific yoga studios, gyms etc, while installing CCTV Cameras.
