UP Woman Preparing For IAS Killed in Suspected Honour Killing; Brother And Mother Arrested

Both accused tried to mislead the police by making them believe the incident was a suicide. However, the forensic examination raised suspicion after the pistol was found in her right hand while the bullet had pierced her head from the left side.

The Uttar Pradesh police arrested a differently-abled man for allegedly killing his sister, who was preparing for the IAS examination. The incident took place in UP’s Hardoi district, Aliyapur village, under Pali police station limits on August 31.

According to PTI, the accused killed his sister, Manvi Mishra, in connivance with their mother, who has also been arrested by the police. The police suspect the incident to be an honour killing.

A senior police officer said that the family was upset because she had married against their wishes.

According to police, Manvi had married a school principal in Bareilly at an Arya Samaj temple.

Later, the accused confessed to the crime.
