A 28-year-old widow was allegedly served alcohol and then choked to death by the property dealer in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, police said. Investigation revealed that the woman went to the property dealer’s home and questioned him for not finishing construction on her house, the cost of which was to be Rs 6 lakh in installments.
Body Dumped
After killing the woman, the dealer disposed of her body in the Yamuna with a friend of his. The victim, Anjali, a mother of two, had made contact with a property dealer, Shivendra alia Bala, who took a total of 6 lakh in installments for a plot of land. However, no registry of the plot had been completed. When she began asking for her money back, Anjali was frustrated.
How The Incident Unfolded
On April 7, 2025, Shivendra called her to his residence on the pretext of returning some money. Upon her arrival, Shivendra, with the help of his friend Gaurav, strangled her to death after serving liquor. They then disposed of them in the Yamuna river underneath a bridge.
Family Complaint After Disappearance
When Anjali did not return that evening, Kiran, her elder sister, began to suspect something was wrong and called the police. She said Shivendra was providing her sister with fake documents and had delayed possession of the plot for two months.
