Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has taken significant strides in empowering its youth through skill development, employment generation, and entrepreneurship. The state’s youth-centric policies are not only opening new avenues for training and jobs but also fostering self-employment, innovation, and start-up culture.
Since 2017, more than 5.66 lakh ITI and polytechnic-trained youth have secured jobs under the Skill India Mission and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana. By April 2025, over 2,800 training centres had imparted industry-oriented skills, helping reduce unemployment across the state. The CM Yuva Udyami Yojana further supports young entrepreneurs with financial assistance and incubation facilities.

To ensure quality skill development, 1,747 active training partners have been engaged, offering courses aligned with industry demands. Incubation centres are equipping youth with expertise in emerging fields such as digital marketing, EV manufacturing, and artificial intelligence. Regular skill competitions provide platforms for young talent to showcase their abilities, making them competitive at both national and international levels.

The government’s efforts have also transformed higher education infrastructure. The number of medical colleges has nearly doubled—from 42 in 2016-17 to 80 today—boosting MBBS seats and improving healthcare services. Engineering colleges too have expanded, offering advanced technical training. Start-up incubators within these institutions are nurturing youth entrepreneurship, while inclusive policies ensure opportunities for women, OBCs, and SC/ST communities.
Employment generation has been further strengthened through regular job fairs. At the three-day Rozgar Mahakumbh in Lucknow (August 2025), over 50,000 jobs were offered by 100 companies, including leading national and international firms such as SBI, HDFC, Swiggy, Zomato, Amazon, and Mahindra. Upcoming job fairs in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Varanasi, and Muzaffarnagar are expected to involve more than 100 companies and create 15,000 new opportunities. In addition, monthly placement drives across districts are directly connecting youth with employers.
With a strong focus on digital, AI, and green jobs, these initiatives are laying the foundation to make Uttar Pradesh a true Skill Hub, aligned with the vision of Viksit UP and Viksit Bharat-2047.
