A shocking incident of rape has been reported from UP’s Ballia where two minor boys have been detained for raping and assaulting a seven-year-old girl. The boys are 7-year and 8-years old. The incident took place on Friday afternoon in the village under Sadar Kotwali area of Ballia.
According to the police, the two had lured the girl away to a deserted location on the pretext of playing with her and allegedly raped her. When the girl returned home, the family found her unwell and admitted to community health centre when her condition worsened. From CHC, she was referred to District Government Women Hospital in Varanasi. After the examination, it was confirmed that she has been raped. The local police took charge and conducted initial inquiry. A formal complaint was lodged by the victim’s father. The case has been registered against both the juvenile boys under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Ballia SP Vikrant Vir said, they received the complaint on Saturday evening about incident of rape with 7-years-old girl. They immediately reached the location where preliminary investigation confirmed that the girl was raped. Doctors told that condition of the girl is stable but has been referred to BHU. The accused boys were identified and inquired.
The investigation is underway for further course of action.
