In a shocking incident, a school manager was arrested for allegedly raping a class 8 student in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria, police said.
According to PTI, the incident took place under the Sadar Kotwali police station limits.
A senior police officer said that a man lodged a complaint with the police, stating that the school manager had raped his minor daughter, a Class 8 student.
The girl told her parents that the school manager had been sexually assaulting her for the past few days.
After receiving the complaint, police officials registered an FIR against the accused. He is being interrogated, and a probe has been launched into the matter.
Internet, social media services suspended in Cuttack
In a separate incident, the Odisha Government has implemented a 24-hour suspension of internet services, starting Sunday, as the situation remains tense here.
The ban, which took effect at 7 pm on Sunday, and will remain in place until 7 pm on Monday. Additionally, the use of social media platforms has also been prohibited in the area.
It will remain effective in the Cuttack Municipal Corporation, Cuttack Development Authority (CDA), and the 42 Mauza Region.
The situation is tense in Cuttack as fresh clashes between two groups were reported here on Sunday. This comes following the incident of stone pelting and clash between them during Durga Puja immersion late last night. Police are present at the spot.
