Greater Noida: The Anti-Corruption Team on Saturday, April 26, caught the accountant posted in the UP RERA office red-handed while taking a bribe. The accused tried to run away, but the team caught him. As per reports, it is being said that the accused accountant had demanded a bribe from a government employee in a case.
The victim made a complaint to the anti-corruption official in Meerut. Following this complaint, the team reached Greater Noida and arrested the accused while taking the bribe.
50 Thousand Rupees Were Demanded For Settlement
The accused accountant has been arrested from the UP RERA office in the Beta 2 police station area in Greater Noida.
As per reports, a buyer, Kuldeep Kumar, is a government employee. He said that he was to get the possession of a flat in a builder society in 2018, but by 2025, he had not gotten possession of the flat. A case was going on in UP RERA in this matter.
The victim said that for the settlement of this case, an accountant posted in the office of UP RERA asked him for a bribe of Rs 50,000.
Demand Of Rs 5000 In Advance
It is reported that an advance payment of Rs 5000 was supposed to be given to him. He made a complaint to the Anti-Corruption Bureau about this incident.
According to the victim, when he handed over the 5,000 rupees to the accountant, the Bureau caught the accountant red-handed. During the incident, the accused also attempted to escape, but was apprehended
Bribe Scandal
The victim said that UP RERA is neither able to get the position of their flat nor can they get their delayed penalty. After the disclosure of the bribery scandal in UP RERA, home buyers are upset and angry. Buyers said that UP RERA was created for their solution, but the employees posted here have started exploiting them.
