UP News: In a tragic incident reported from Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, a two-and-a-half-year-old boy died after being hit by a school van. The incident took place in Umarpur village, under the Budhana police station area on Saturday. CCTV footage of the accident is now going viral on social media.
The heart breaking incident occurred when a Green Public School van arrived in the village to pick up children as usual. Meanwhile, the boy, identified as Keshav, who was playing in the street, suddenly ran in front of the van, unseen by the driver. One of the van’s wheels struck the child, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The driver stopped the vehicle after hearing a crying sound from beneath it. Upon hearing the jolt and the sound of a child crying, a crowd quickly gathered at the scene, and family members also arrived. Following the incident, police arrived at the scene, seized the school van, and arrested the driver.

Giving details of the incident, CO Budhana, Gajendra Pal Singh, stated that a school van from Green Public School in Umarpur village, under Budhana police station, had gone to pick up children when Shubham’s two-and-a-half-year-old son was hit by the van and died. The van driver has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
