Investigation Launched After Soil Incident
It further said that once the pilot noticed the soil on the tracks, the concerned authorities doubted someone’s attempt to cause the accident. After clearing the soil, the train services resumed safely. The eyewitnesses said they saw a dumper truck working for the nearby construction site of Ganga Expressway, dumping some soil on the track before moving away towards Kheer. Now, the authorities are investigating the matter to find out why it occurred.
Heightened Safety Measures For Railroads
The incident came a day after when the driver of the Gorakhpur-Lucknow Intercity Superfast Express witnessed a car on the track. The car driver had attempted to cross a railway crossing gate, which had been closed for construction, and ended up on the railway track. Fortunately, the train driver acted quickly and applied the brakes to prevent a collision. The car was later moved from the tracks by a crane after it came to a standstill about 100 meters away along the train line.
