A 23-year-old woman died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad. The woman recorded the act on the phone while accusing her husband, father-in-law, and sister-in-law of the extreme step. The woman has been identified as Amreen Jahan.
Woman had been living with her in-laws
According to NDTV, Amreen’s husband was working as a welder in Bengaluru, and she had been living with her husband’s family in Moradabad.
Amreen accused her husband, in-laws of harassment
The woman recorded the act on the phone. She blamed her in-laws, who allegedly harassed her for her miscarriage and passed remarks about her food habits. She stated in the video clip that her father-in-law and sister-in-law are responsible for the step and her husband is also partially responsible for the same.
She further alleged that her husband and in-laws asked her to die. The woman said in the video that her in-laws said that they made a mistake by paying for her medical treatment and asked her to repay the money.
Police register an FIR
Amreen also said in the video that her husband asked her, “Why don’t you just die?”Upon receiving a complaint, the police have registered an FIR. The police sent the body for autopsy.
Woman, daughter arrested for murder in Delhi
In a separate case, two women, a woman and her daughter have been arrested for allegedly murdering a 50-year-old man in Nihal Vihar area of the national capital, according to the Delhi Police.
The man identified as Rajesh Mittal was the brother-in-law and uncle, respectively, of the arrested woman and her daughter.
The accused woman’s husband, Mittal’s elder brother, left the house 10-12 years ago.
The duo confessed to the crime during a police interrogation and has been sent to judicial custody on Saturday, police said.
According to police, Rajesh Mittal was declared brought dead at a hospital on Friday (May 23). He sustained a stab wound.
