A massive fire broke out at a residential building in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. The incident took place at Friends Avenue, Shakti Khand 2 in Indirapuram. Several fire tenders were rushed to the spot and successfully doused the flames.

Chief Fire Officer Rahul Kumar said, “Information was received at Fire Station Vaishali at 8:30 pm that a fire had broken out in Divya Apartment in Shakti Khand 2 and that a few people were trapped inside. Five fire tenders from Vaishali Fire Station, along with two additional vehicles that were on duty, were immediately dispatched.
A temporary structure built on the balconies of 5–6 flats had caught fire. The building had already been vacated. We immediately began firefighting operations and extinguished the fire within 45 minutes. No injuries have been reported.”

A resident, Deepak Tyagi said, “…My flat was the first to catch fire. A firecracker hit my inverter. There is a man, Jitender, who lives a little far from here. He was bursting crackers below our building…Another man from my building, Rajiv was bursting crackers with him. RWA president Ashok Tyagi told them not to do it, but they fought with him. At the end, there was a fire here. It started in the inverter on balcony. I tried to douse the flames using a fire extinguisher but the flames were too massive for it. The fire spread to my entire house and then to the entire building. No casualties were reported though.”

Odisha: Massive fire breaks out in Bhubaneswar’s Unit-1 vegetable market
In a separate incident, a massive fire broke out in Bhubaneswar’s Unit-1 vegetable market, resulting in the gutting of atleast 20 shops, officials said.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Mayor Sulochana Das, a total of eight fire tenders were deployed at the incident site to extinguish the fire. No casualties were reported in the incident; however, the cause of the fire remains uncertain.
