In a shocking incident a mason ended his life by suicide while he was on a video call with his wife. The incident has been reported from Sarnath of Varanasi district in Uttar Pradesh. The 28-year-old man hanged himself on Friday night at a plot where he worked. The deceased, identified as Rakesh Yadav was resident of Bhujari in Ghazipur district. The police were alerted by his wife and his body was sent for post mortem.
What Did The Police Say?
According to the police, family dispute has been suspected to be the reason behind the incident. Initial investigation revealed that the couple had love marriage and were parents to two children. Rakesh was upset with his wife as she wanted him to take her to his parent’s house in Ghazipur. While the wife was adamant about her wish, Rakesh was not ready for it, TOI reported.
The deceased was reportedly talking to his wife through a video call when ending his life. His wife had pleaded repeatedly to stop him from taking the step.
In another incident, a 21-year-old woman was gang-raped, murdered and set on fire by her brother-in-law who had hired two killers to commit the crime. The incident was reported form Muzaffarnagar. The reports stated that the brother-in-law had taken a Rs 40,000 loan from the bank to hire the killers and fund the crime. The woman had gone missing from her village on 21 January. Her remains were recovered from a nearby forest on Friday.
Police reported that the body was burned beyond recognition. Her parents identified her from partially-burnt clothes, footwear, ring, hair with a clip intact and undergarments which were recovered from the crime spot. Her remains were sent for post-mortem.
