UP News: A shocking murder case has come to light from Uttar Pradesh, where police arrested a taxi driver for allegedly killing his live-in partner and dumping her body in a forested area. The accused didn’t just stop after committing the horrific crime, he returned home to prepare for his wedding.
The accused, Bilal, is said to have murdered his girlfriend, Uma (30) by beheading her as he wanted to end the relationship in order to marry another woman. Her headless body was later recovered from field of Bahadurpur village in the Pratap Nagar Police station area, Haryana, prompting a cross-state investigation. Police officials said the case was cracked on Sunday, leading to the arrest of the accused and revealing the motive behind the crime.
SP Kamal Deep Goyal told ANI, “On December 7, a woman’s body was found in the Bahadurpur village area under the Pratap Nagar police station in our district. The body was headless, and the woman was only wearing upper garments; there were no other clothes on her body… We immediately constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT)… Despite all our efforts, no one came forward to identify the woman. Based on the technical inputs, we arrested the accused, identified as Bilal, yesterday.”
Shocking confession! Why did he murder Uma?
During the interrogation, Bilal revealed that he had been in contact with her for about two years, and they were in a live-in relationship. The woman wanted to marry him, but his family had arranged his marriage elsewhere. Fearing that she might interfere with his marriage and bring dishonour to his family, Bilal committed the crime. On the night of December 6, at around 8 pm, Bilal started travelling with her from Saharanpur.
Upon reaching Bahadurpur village, he stopped the car on some pretext and moved to the back seat. He then strangled the woman with her seatbelt. After driving for about 500 meters later, Bilal took the woman’s body out of the car, dragged it into a field, slit her throat with a knife, and removed her clothes to prevent identification. SP Goyal added, “Bilal threw the head and the clothes somewhere in the jungle… Today, we will request an eight-day police remand… We have contacted the woman’s father and brother.”
