UP: Deoria Woman Pours Boiling Water On Husband, Pushes Him Off Terrace

A police officer reported that the incident took place in Deoria, located about 50 km from Gorakhpur, during the late hours of April 13. The man, who had been visiting his in-laws, experienced his wife throwing hot water on him, followed by a physical assault from other family members.

The Uttar Pradesh (UP) police said they arrested a woman for throwing boiling water on her sleeping husband, collaborating with her family members to beat him severely, and ultimately pushing him off the terrace.

A police officer stated that the incident occurred in Deoria, approximately 50 km from Gorakhpur, UP, in the late hours of April 13. The man, who was visiting his in-laws, was subjected to hot water thrown by his wife followed by a physical assault by the family.

Amrita Rai suspected her husband, Ashish Kumar Rai, of engaging in an extramarital relationship. According to Ashish Rai, who hails from Balia, during a visit to his in-laws, they confiscated his mobile phone and motorcycle keys. Despite his request for the keys, they insisted he stay overnight, which he agreed to, and then everyone went to sleep.

Ashish Rai further narrated that around 3 a.m., his wife informed him of her need to use the bathroom. Unbeknownst to him, her sister had prepared boiling water, which she then poured on him while he slept. As he tried to escape, they caught hold of him and proceeded to physically assault him, causing injuries to his head. Eventually, they threw him off the terrace.

Authorities have filed an FIR against the woman, and an investigation is currently ongoing.
