New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday gave keys to 76 flats built on land confiscated from murdered mafia Atiq Ahmed to the poor in Prayagraj.
The flats were built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban)and beneficiaries decided through a lottery earlier this month.
Chief Minister and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya inspected the flats and interacted with the children. Later, UP CM handed over allotment letters to beneficiaries at a function.
According to the information, each flat has two rooms, a kitchen, and a toilet that covers an area of 41 square meters. Over 6000 people had applied for the flats and 1590 people were found eligible for the lottery process.
UP Chief Minister said that the law and order situation in the state improved a lot since the BJP government came into Power.
” It is the same state where any gangster could grab the land of the poor, businessmen, or government institutions. The Poor could not able to do anything, But after 2017, We are building homes for the poor on the land that was seized from mafias,” said the Chief Minister.
Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were killed in front of a Camera in Police Custody while they were being taken for a medical check-up in Pryagraj.
