Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath marked the first Deepotsav in Ayodhya following the consecration of the Ram temple, celebrating it as a moment of pride. “This is a moment of pride for us all,” said Yogi Adityanath. “When the first Deepotsav was celebrated eight years ago, people were asking ‘Yogi ji, please build the Ram mandir.’ I told them then that Lord Ram will soon bless us all,” he added, crediting Prime Minister Modi’s vision for bringing this moment to fruition. He recalled that on August 5, 2020, amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Tourism Initiatives and New Book Release
Joined by Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Yogi Adityanath launched a tourism app aimed at enhancing visitors’ experiences in Ayodhya. Additionally, a book authored by the Ayodhya Mayor was released, showcasing the region’s cultural and religious heritage.
Revitalizing Ayodhya and Kashi
In his address, Yogi Adityanath celebrated Ayodhya’s transformation, describing it as the “beginning of Sanatan Dharma” and highlighting the development in Kashi. He emphasized the government’s commitment to preserving Sanatan heritage, adding, “The world is witnessing the grand Kashi.”

A Symbol of Faith and Heritage
Reflecting on the journey to build the Ram Temple, Yogi Adityanath noted that the government’s commitment under the “double-engine government” has led to significant progress in Ayodhya, including infrastructure improvements. “There was no electricity before 2017 in Ayodhya,” he said, referencing those who questioned Lord Ram’s existence as undermining the roots of Sanatan Dharma and Indian heritage.
The Spirit of Deepotsav
The Chief Minister underscored the significance of the diyas being lit for Deepotsav, calling them symbols of Sanatan Dharma’s enduring faith. He reminisced about the first Deepotsav celebration, where people passionately raised slogans for building the temple. “I said then, keep faith; these diyas are not just lights they are symbols of our faith. Lord Ram’s blessings will surely be upon us,” he concluded.
