UP: 4 MBBS students killed as car crashes into parked truck on Delhi-Lucknow highway

Four MBBS students from Sri Venkateshwara University were killed after their speeding car crashed into a parked DCM truck on the Delhi-Lucknow Highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha.

In a tragic late-night accident, four MBBS students were killed instantly after their speeding car rammed into a parked DCM truck on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district on Wednesday night. Officials said the crash occurred around 10:30 pm near the DVR Restaurant in Atrasi village, under the jurisdiction of Rajabpur police station.

According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision was extremely severe, leaving the car completely mangled and offering no chance of survival to those inside. The roof of the vehicle was blown off due to the force of the crash and debris was scattered across the highway.

Locals alert police; Bodies identified at the spot

Locals rushed to the scene immediately after hearing the loud crash and notified the police. Officers arrived promptly, cordoning off the area and sending the bodies for post-mortem. Aadhar cards found at the site helped in identifying the deceased. Forensic teams and police personnel remained at the spot through the night, inspecting the wreckage and collecting evidence to determine how the accident occurred.

Police said that all four victims were MBBS students from Sri Venkateshwara University in Gajraula, where they were undergoing their internship. University officials were informed without delay and later reached the location to assist in identification and support coordination with the victims’ families. Police had to cut open parts of the vehicle to recover the bodies due to the extent of damage.

Victims identified; Families notified

The deceased were identified as Arnab Chakraborty from Kolkata, Ayush Sharma from Delhi, Shreshtha Pancholi from Delhi and Saptarishi from Tripura. SP Amit Kumar Anand confirmed that all bodies have been shifted to the mortuary and will undergo post-mortem once the families arrive. Authorities stated that further action will be taken after registering statements from the relatives and completing procedural formalities.
