A woman was removed from a New Delhi-bound private airline’s flight at Lohegaon airport in Pune Saturday morning following a fit of rage during which she assaulted fellow passengers and a CISF constable. The incident took place around 7:45 am when the boarding process was going on.

The homemaker and her husband, a software engineer from Pune, were on their way to Delhi to attend the funeral of a relative. According to a CISF officer, the woman appeared very distraught, which could have been one of the reasons for her outburst. Alarmed by her behavior over the safety of the passengers and the crew, the pilot decided not to fly with her on board. The airline sought the intervention of CISF.

Statements from airline staff and CISF officers have also been taken. The brother and sister, who were involved in the incident, have left for Delhi and their statements will be recorded later in the ongoing probe.
