A woman was removed from a New Delhi-bound private airline’s flight at Lohegaon airport in Pune Saturday morning following a fit of rage during which she assaulted fellow passengers and a CISF constable. The incident took place around 7:45 am when the boarding process was going on.
According to the airport authorities, the woman first assaulted a brother and sister seated at their reserved seats. The commotion led the flight staff to seek help from CISF. Constables Priyanka Reddy and Sonika Pal were sent to the aircraft to sort out the situation.
CISF confronts violent passenger
The woman turned abusive when the CISF officers intervened. She physically assaulted Constable Reddy by slapping her and biting her on the hand. As things turned violent, CISF officers overpowered the woman, escorted her and her husband out of the plane, and handed them over to the airport police. A case was registered against her. Senior Inspector Ajay Sankeshwari confirmed that she was released after being issued a notice to join the investigation when summoned.

Flight Incident: Distressed Woman Removed
The homemaker and her husband, a software engineer from Pune, were on their way to Delhi to attend the funeral of a relative. According to a CISF officer, the woman appeared very distraught, which could have been one of the reasons for her outburst. Alarmed by her behavior over the safety of the passengers and the crew, the pilot decided not to fly with her on board. The airline sought the intervention of CISF.
Statements from airline staff and CISF officers have also been taken. The brother and sister, who were involved in the incident, have left for Delhi and their statements will be recorded later in the ongoing probe.
