There is a widespread belief that many people, especially in India, tend to speak English when they are under the influence of alcohol. The slogan at the liquor store aims to leverage this behavior as a marketing strategy to draw in more customers.
The unusual poster has sparked discussion and confusion among locals, particularly students and young people. Many view it as a distasteful joke that connects education with alcohol consumption.

Siddharth Kumar, a local college student, strongly criticized the poster, arguing that it would have a detrimental effect on students. Along with other students, he has demanded its removal and called for strict action against those responsible.
The poster conveys the incorrect idea that people would learn English only after drinking alcohol. Additionally, it appears to be an advertisement for a spoken English coaching center at first glance.
In response to the local outrage, District Collector Bhavya Mittal swiftly directed the excise department to remove the poster and take action against those responsible for posting it.
