Union Budget 2023: Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal on Wednesday said that the Centre has not addressed the real issues including unemployment and price rise in a Union Budget presented on Wednesday.
He said, “This budget is not addressing real sentiment of country that is unemployment and price rise. It only had fancy announcements that were made earlier too but what about implementation?”

The Congress leader further accused the Centre to benefit only insurance companies and not farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojna through the Union Budget 2023-2024. “Only insurance companies were benefited from PM Kisan Yojana not farmers,” said the Congress’ general secretary.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharama announced the budget for year 2023-2024 on February 1. Presenting the Union Budget 2023-2024, the Finance Minister said that the efficient implementation of many schemes, with universalisation of targeted benefits, has resulted in inclusive development.
She alsi announced the cash transfer of Rs 2.2 lakh crore to over 11.4 crore farmers under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
