Rajasthan: Slamming the Congress led Rajasthan Government, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that the state has reached number one position in terms of crime rate, in Jaisalmer.
Addressing the media, Defence Minister claimed that according to the reports which he was facilitated by the people, in past 56 months, more than 60 thousand innocent citizens have been killed under Congress rule in Rajasthan.
“Apart From this, more than 10 lakh cases have been registered in the state and nearly 32 thousand cases of crime have been registered against women,” he said while stating the report.
Singh asserted that the very first condition of development in any state and region is the healthy law and order.
Increasing Crime Rate In Rajasthan
Patrika quoted data of the Rajasthan Police, analyzing the crime report data up to October for the years 2020, 2021, and 2022, a concerning trend emerges. From 2020 to 2022, there has been a significant increase of 27.67 percent in reported crimes. Comparing the data from October 2021 to October 2022, there has been a 13.68 percent surge in reported crimes.
However, crime rates have shown a consistent increase over the years, as evident in the following data for the years 2020, 2021, and 2022 (up to October), Patrika quoted Rajasthan police data.

2020: 120079 cases
2021: 130636 cases
2022: 147069 cases
The crime statistics for the months up to October over the past three years in Rajasthan paint a concerning picture. During this period, the state has witnessed a surge in criminal activities, with kidnapping cases taking the lead as the most registered crime, closely followed by robbery.
Comparing data from 2020 to 2022, kidnapping cases have increased by a significant 47.36 percent, while robbery cases have surged by 47.20 percent. The police have invoked the FR (Final Report) in a substantial 70.44 percent of kidnapping and abduction cases. As of October 2022, a total of 207,944 cases have been registered, with 54,727 cases still under investigation.

Furthermore, rape cases have shown a startling increase of over 36 percent. Despite government and police headquarters' claims, the ground reality reveals a continuous rise in crime rates. Among these crimes, not only have serious offenses like murder, attempted murder, and robbery surged, but cases of kidnapping and robbery have also seen a worrying increase in Rajasthan.
