New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday left with Atiq Ahmed, an accused in Umesh Pal murder case, to take the latter to Prayagraj.
As per a UP court’s order, the verdict in a kidnapping case will be pronounced on March 28. All accused in the case, including Atiq Ahmed, have been directed to be produced before the court on the day.
Meanwhile, the security has been beeded up in the jail to monitor Atiq Ahmed.

1,271 km journey from Sabarmati to Prayagraj
The police’ convoy will reach Prayagraj in UP, traveling 1271 km in about 24 hours by road. It is reported that a 45-member team of UP Police had reached Sabarmati jail before Atiq came out from the jail. The team consisted one IPS officer, 3DSP and 40 policemen. The convoy consists of six vehicles.

Atiq Ahmed will remain in this jail of UP
DG (Jail) Anand Kumar said that mafia-turned-leader gangster Atiq Ahmed will be kept in isolation in high-security barracks in Prayagraj jail, quoted the news agency ANI. His cell will also have a CCTV camera.

To Be Monitored 24 hours with cameras
Apart from this, jail employees have been selected on the basis of their records. All the security personnel will have body wear cameras around Atiq’s cell.
Prayagraj Jail Office and Jail Headquarters will monitor Atiq round the clock. DIG jail is being sent to Prayagraj Jail to ensure all the arrangements.
