Umesh Pal Murder case: A day after one of the accused in the Umesh pal murder case of Prayagraj was shot down in a police encounter, UP police ramped bulldozers on the house of Zafar Ahmed, a close aide of gangster Atiq Ahmed on Thursday morning.

As per sources in UP Police, Zafar Ahmed is a relative of Atiq. The plan of killing Umesh Pal was allegedly plotted in his house. It is claimed that Zafar hosted the killers.

Umesh Pal was the key witness in the 2005 BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case in which former Samajwadi Party MP Atiq Ahmed is a key accused. As per sources, Atiq, who is in Ahmedabad jail, allegedly plotted Umesh’s killing before he could record his statement in front of the Police.

Zafar Ahmed, the house owner, faces half a dozen cases. Police also found arms and ammunition in his house.
