New Delhi: A case has come to light from Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai where a prisoner was brutally beaten by five inmates. The prisoner who received the thrashing is not ordinary and goes by the name of Shahrukh Pathan.
He is the killer of Umesh Kolhe who was murdered over alleged support post for Nupur Sharma. The killer Shahrukh Pathan was attacked by five inmates inside the jail.
The incident took place on July 23. Reportedly, Pathan was beaten up in Barrack No 7 of Arthur Road Jail.
These people attacked Shahrukh Pathan
The names of the accused who attacked are Kalpesh Patel, Hemant Maneria, Arvind Yadav, Shravan Awan and Sandeep Jadhav. All these prisoners were together in the same barrack number 7 of the jail.
Pathan wanted to dominate
Reportedly, Pathan wanted to overpower them. It was Pathan who informed them that, for posting in support of Nupur Sharma, he along with his companions killed Umesh.
His intention was to dominate the prisoners imprisoned in the jail, but the opposite happened. The rest of the prisoners in the barracks beat up Shahrukh fiercely.
Barracks were shifted after the incident
After the incident, Sharukh has been shifted to a separate barrack from the rest of the prisoners, and a case has been registered against the five inmates at the NM Joshi Marg police station.
Although the police have arrested anyone yet. All the five prisoners are in the jail itself.
Shahrukh was arrested by NIA
Shahrukh Pathan along with his other accomplices has been arrested by the NIA for the murder of Amravati’s medical businessman Umesh Kolhe. Shahrukh along with his 6 companions had killed Umesh Kolhe on the night of June 21.
These people had killed Umesh for posting in support of Nupur Sharma. The case was handed over to the NIA after criticism from the local police in the matter.

Nupur Sharma had made some comment on Prophet Muhammad during a debate on a national news channel. This initiated a nationwide debate which gradually turned violent at many instance in different parts of the nation.
