The local streets of Seelampur, Delhi, were shocked when the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (UP ATS) barged in and arrested Haroon, a local scrap dealer. What initially seemed like a normal day swiftly unravelled into a mysterious tale of espionage, a double life, and a secret Pakistani connection.
Haroon, who used to run a scrap business from K Block in Seelampur, lived with his wife, Shabana Parveen, and their three children. Going by his looks, he was an ordinary man leading an ordinary life. However, beneath this exterior picture was a clever existence that was connected across borders.
It came out that Haroon had a second wife, Sumaira, who lived in the Gujranwala region of Punjab, Pakistan. Sumaira, who had previously been divorced, was not just a second wife; she was Haroon’s own aunt’s daughter, highlighting the familial ties of his cross-border marital arrangements. The Delhi-based Shabana Parveen was aware of Haroon’s Pakistani marriage for the past four years, hinting at a deep-rooted secret within the family.
Haroon’s family members in Seelampur stated that he regularly travelled to Pakistan, but were constantly saying that he wasn’t involved in arranging visas for others, and also that he hadn’t even helped anyone in their own locality. However, the ATS’s investigation revealed a far darker picture.
The situation came to a turning point when the UP ATS unveiled a direct link between Haroon and Mujammil Hussain, a person working at the Pakistani Embassy. This connection came out as the solid proof for Haroon’s arrest. According to the authorities Haroon was involved in a serious case: providing confidential information related to India to Pakistan. Furthermore, it’s suspected that both Haroon and Mujammil were involved in illegal extortion, demanding money from people under the excuse of facilitating visas.
Haroon’s travel history revealed that he had been in Pakistan from April 5th to April 25th, a period which was under intense scrutiny. A very important question for investigators was to determine who Haroon’s Pakistani wife, Sumaira, was in contact with, and what specific India-related intelligence she might have been sharing to individuals in Pakistan.
As the UP ATS delves deeper, hopes are high that Haroon’s social media accounts will unlock further secrets, potentially exposing a wider network and shedding more light on the extent of his alleged activities. The once-ordinary scrap dealer from Seelampur is now at the center of a national security investigation, his double life laid bare for all to see.
