Two terrorists affiliated to AGuH killed in encounter

Srinagar: Two terrorists affiliated to Ansar Gazwat-ul Hind (AGuH) were killed by Srinagar police on Wednesday in an encounter that took place in Nougam area of Srinagar district.

The terrorists identified as, Shahid Ahmad alias Abu Hamza and Aijaz Rasool Nazar, were involved in the recent attack on an outside labourer from West Bengal in Pulwama.

“A joint cordon & search operation was launched by Army & JKP at Dangerpur, Naugam, Srinagar. Op resulted in neutralisation of 2 hard-core terrorists of proscribed terrorist outfit AGuH,” said Defence PRO Srinagar in a statement.

An AK Rifle, 2 pistols & other war-like stores recovered, it added.

The 2 neutralised terrorists, Shahid Ah Ganai is from Budgam & Arjumand(Aijaz) Rasool Nazar, from Karimabad, Pulwama.

As per Jammu Kashmir Police, both terrorists were involved in recent civilian killing in Wugragund, Pulwama where a non local labourer was killed, the Defence PRO Srinagar added.

Encounter started following specific input

Jammu Kashmir Police, on Wednesday, said that based on specific input generated by Police an encounter had started in Nowgam area. Srinagar Police and 50RR were on the job.

Later, in a tweet, Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said: “Killed #terrorists were affiliated with #terror outfit AGuH & identified as Aijaz Rasool Nazar of Pulwama & Shahid Ahmad @ Abu Hamza. They were involved in recent #terror attack on an outside labourer namely Muneer ul Islam from West Bengal on 2/9/22 in Pulwama.”
