In Varanasi, a startling discovery emerged as authorities found two women living with their mother’s corpse for an entire year. The revelation unfolded when the Lanka police station team broke into their residence and stumbled upon Pallavi (27) and Vaishviki (18) alongside their deceased mother, Usha Tiwari (52), whose body had deteriorated into a skeleton.
According to the sisters, Usha Tiwari passed away due to an illness in December the previous year, and lacking financial means, they couldn’t arrange her cremation. Living in the Maderva Chittupur area of Lanka, Varanasi, the family seemed isolated, with the sisters mentioning their father’s absence for the past two years, and residing in Ballia.
Authorities suspect the sisters might be grappling with mental health issues. Concerns arose when a relative alerted the police about the locked premises, prompting their intervention. Upon entering, the police found the skeletal remains in one room, while the daughters were in another.
Inspector Shivkant Mishra from Lanka police station assured that the case doesn’t involve foul play, and the skeleton is undergoing further investigation. Remarkably, despite the odor emanating from the decomposing body, the sisters disclosed covering the body and occasionally relocating to the terrace. Pallavi holds a postgraduate degree, and Vaishviki attends Class 10, with the police noting their sporadic exits from the house.
