Chhattisgarh: A bus full of BJP workers going to attend the PM’s meeting in Raipur overturned at Belthara near Bilaspur on National Highway 30. In the accident, two people died on the spot, and several were injured. The condition of three of the injured is said to be serious.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has also condoled the accident by tweeting. The seriously injured have been admitted to Apollo Bilaspur. CM Bhupesh Baghel has announced that he will give Rs 4 lakh each to the families of those who died in the accident.
To attend the public meeting, about 50 BJP leaders and workers, along with BJP Mandal President Leelu Gupta from the Vishrampur area of Surajpur district, left for Raipur by Royal bus last night. The bus was going to Raipur from NH 30 via Ambikapur. The bus rammed into a trailer parked on the roadside at high speed. Sajjan’s father, Sohan (30), and Rupdev’s father, Sonsai (55), residents of Jamdei village in the Jayanagar area, were killed in the accident. At the same time, a dozen other riders were injured. Other riders received minor injuries. Based on information about the accident, the police took the injured to Apollo and Sims Bilaspur hospitals.
