Two Andhra DSPs Killed, ASP Injured In Road Accident; Home Minister Expresses Shock

Confirming the details of the accident, Choutuppal Inspector G. Manmadha Kumar said that a probe is underway to determine what led to the tragedy.

Andhra Pradesh: In a tragic incident, two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) from the Andhra Pradesh Intelligence Department were killed in a road accident. According to reports, the mishap occurred in the early hours of Saturday in Choutuppal, after their vehicle initially hit a divider. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the officers’ car ended up hitting another speeding lorry head-on around 4:45 a.m.

Another account of the same incident says the lorry, coming from the opposite side of the divider, veered from its route and collided with the police vehicle. The tragic crash has sent shockwaves through the entire police force. According to sources, the officers, identified as Chakradhar Rao and Shantha Rao, were travelling in the car, which was en route to Hyderabad.

ASP Durga Prasad and driver Narsing Rao were also present in the car during the accident. Both of them sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Confirming the details of the accident, Choutuppal Inspector G. Manmadha Kumar said that a probe is underway to determine what led to the tragedy.

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Saturday expressed his condolences over the unfortunate incident, stating, “The road accident that occurred near Kaitapuram in Choutuppal Mandal of Telangana State has caused shock with the tragic demise of two DSPs from Andhra Pradesh, Chakradhar Garu and Shantaravu Garu. Additional SP Prasad Garu and driver Narsingarao Garu, who were injured in the accident, have been shifted to Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar and are receiving treatment. We will take measures to ensure they receive the best possible treatment. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. On behalf of the government, we will stand by their families in every possible way.”
