TV Reality Show Job Offer Used As Pretext For Rape: Palghar Man Arrested

A 30-year-old man has been booked by Palghar district police in Maharashtra for allegedly raping a woman from Gujarat. The man is accused of enticing her with a reality show job before perpetrating the crime.

On Wednesday, an official stated that the police in Palghar district, Maharashtra, have booked a 30-year-old man for allegedly raping a woman from Gujarat. The man is accused of luring her with a job in a reality show before committing the crime.

According to the official, Anand Singh, a resident of Vasai on the outskirts of Mumbai, allegedly raped the woman from Surat on Monday and Tuesday. The 26-year-old woman, in her complaint to the Tulinj police, stated that Singh called her to Mumbai promising to secure her a job in a popular reality show.

Upon her arrival, Singh took her to his house near More Talao in Nalasopara and raped her, as per the official. Singh allegedly beat her up and threatened her with dire consequences when she resisted.
