New Delhi: In an intense anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sunderbani Sector, Phantom, a dedicated army dog, was fatally injured after drawing fire from terrorists in the Akhnoor region. This fearlessly fighting four-year-old Belgian Malinois dog was a part of the Indian army and was a key member of the White Knight Corps. Honouring the dog, the White Knight Corps wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “We salute the supreme sacrifice of our true hero, a valiant Indian Army dog, Phantom.”
Today’s operation followed an attack on an Army vehicle in the Asan area of Sunderbani. A massive hunt was launched right away to find the terrorists involved in the act. During search and cordon, one terrorist was neutralized and the Army recovered warlike supplies. Unfortunately, Phantom received bullet injuries and did not survive it.
