In Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur, a truck crash resulted in 11 deaths and 10 injuries when the vehicle collided with a parked bus and overturned on it. The truck, loaded with stone ballast, struck the bus carrying over a dozen pilgrims. The accident occurred late Saturday night on the Gola Bypass road in the Khutar Police station area. The private bus, traveling from Sitapur to Purnagiri, had stopped at a dhaba in Shahjahanpur when the truck hit and overturned on it, crushing the pilgrims to death.
Women and children make up most of the victims. Rescue teams, working for nearly three hours, pulled several bodies from under the truck. Visuals showed them using a crane to move rubble and extract pilgrims crushed beneath the truck.
