Tripura: Two Arrested For Human Trafficking In Agartala, Investigations Underway

The accused were wanted in connection with a human trafficking case and had been evading multiple search attempts at their residences.

Tripura: In a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) and State Police, the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested two individuals on Monday for their alleged involvement in human trafficking, according to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the GRP.

Investigations Underway

According to officials, the operation took place in the Mati Nagar area of Sonamura, with the arrested individuals identified as Shahid Mia (33) and Faichal Mia (19).

The accused were wanted in connection with a human trafficking case and had been evading multiple search attempts at their residences.

Authorities suspect that other human traffickers operating in the area may be arrested as investigations and operations continue.

Earlier, three Bangladeshi nationals at Agartala Railway Station on Sunday for illegally entering India.

Bangladeshi Women Detained In Agartala

Meanwhile, in another incident, two Bangladeshi women were detained at Tripura’s Agartala railway station on Monday for illegal entry into India, according to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP).

The operation was carried out jointly by the GRP, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), the Border Security Force (BSF), and the Intelligence Department, officials said.

The detainees, identified as Nilufa Begum (34) and Jiasmin (30) both residents of Shariatpur district, Bangladesh were apprehended on Monday afternoon, the police stated.
