Tripura Election Result 2023: Counting of votes in the Tripura Assembly elections began Thursday morning at 21 counting centres across the state, under strict security and in the presence of Election Commission-appointed observers. (Tripura Election Result 2023)
The counting of votes began at 8 a.m. On February 16, the northeastern state reported a voter turnout of 81.10 percent.
To ensure a smooth counting process, the Commission has prepared comprehensive security precautions. A three-tier security mechanism has been put in place, with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Tripura State Rifle (TRS), and Tripura Police being deployed. There are adequate security precautions in place, in addition to round-the-clock patrolling by 30 vehicles manned by CRPF officers.

Counting of votes is going on for 60 assembly seats of Tripura. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gitte Kirankumar Dinkarrao said that preparations for the counting of votes have been completed. After the initial trends, the situation will become clear after noon whether the BJP government will continue in the state or a new government will be formed. Voting was held in the state on February 16. Around 89.98 percent voters had exercised their franchise.
In Tripura, BJP is ahead in 38 seats in the initial trends. BJP got majority in trends.

Exit polls
According to exit polls, the current BJP alliance is expected to get 45 per cent votes, which is six per cent less than in the last assembly elections in 2018. However, the BJP alliance in the state enjoys a 13 per cent vote share lead over its main rival, the Left-Congress alliance. The exit polls predicted a clear majority for the BJP alliance. Tipra Motha, led by Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, is expected to get 20 per cent votes.
