Tripura CM: Manik Saha on Wednesday took oath as the Chief Minister of the northeast state Tripura for the second time in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief JP Nadda and other BJP leaders. The mega event was held at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala. Amit Shah and Nadda already arrived in Agartala on Tuesday. They were received at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport by Manik Saha.
Chief Minister-designate Manik Saha on Monday called on Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya to stake claim to form the government in the Northeast state.
“My sincere gratitude to all for electing me as the leader of the legislature party. Under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi ji, we shall work together to build ‘Unnata Tripura, Shrestha Tripura’ and ensure the welfare of all sections of people,” tweeted Saha after the meeting.

Manik Saha handed in his resignation to Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya at Raj Bhavan in Agartala on Friday. The Governor requested him to stay until the new government took office.
Saha told reporters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the ceremony on March 8.
“Last time, the oath-taking ceremony took place at Assam Rifles Field and this time it would take place at the Swami Vivekananda Maidan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ceremony, according to Saha.
He further stated that BJP President JP Nadda will visit the state to participate in the oath-taking ceremony. “Union Home Minister Amit Shah, as well as other party officials, will be present for the Oath Taking Ceremony,” he added.

According to the Election Commission of India, BJP won 32 seats with a vote share of roughly 39 per cent. Tipra Motha Party finished second with 13 seats. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) received 11 seats, while the Congress received three. The Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) was successful in gaining one seat.
