Besides directly liking the Bundelkhand Expressway, the elevated highway will also connect the national capital, easing heavy traffic on the city’s busiest road. Special ramps to be built for…
The Kanpur-Mahoba-Kabrai greenfield highway is considered to be one of the biggest projects for transforming the Bundelkhand region, DNA reported. Additionally, the new elevated road will run above the entire route. For this, special ramps are reportedly being built for the entry and exit of vehicles at Mahoba, Hamirpur, and Ghatampur.
Land Acquisition Underway
According to DNA reports, the design of the new elevated highway has already been sent to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for approval. A land acquisition is also underway in around 93 villages located across Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Mahoba, and Hamirpur.
The project proposes to acquire 1139 hectares of land through 9 villages in Mahoba, 35 villages in Hamirpur, 49 villages in Kanpur Nagar, and Dehat. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is overseeing the project, and the tender process is likely to be finished soon.
