In another travel advisory, Air India earlier said, “Poor visibility due to dense fog and airport congestion may affect flight operations in Delhi and some other cities today.”
A thick layer of fog engulfed parts of Delhi/NCR during the early morning hours, reducing visibility across the national capital. The city is experiencing severe cold waves amid deteriorating air quality.
Delhi woke up to ‘very poor’ air quality on Wednesday morning with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 338 at 6 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated rainfall activity over Delhi and its neighboring states on the 15th and 16th of January. There has been a slight decline in minimum temperature in the city during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi were recorded in the range of 16 to 18°C and 8 to 9°C, respectively.
