Tragedy struck in Jalandhar, Punjab, where a man killed his entire family. He is now under arrest. The incident took place at their residence in the Tower Enclave locality. The accused, Harpreet Singh (30), reportedly utilized his father’s two licensed firearms in the crime. Shockingly, instead of showing any remorse or attempting to flee after the heinous act, Harpreet went to watch a movie.
The victims of this horrific incident were Harpreet’s father, Jagbir Singh, his mother, Amritpal Kaur, and his brother, Gagandeep Singh. Disturbingly, Harpreet confessed to the police that he had even placed an LPG cylinder in the house, presumably with the intent to cause an explosion.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar disclosed that the trigger for Harpreet’s rage was his father’s refusal to transfer the house’s ownership into his name. Although Harpreet lived in the same house with his wife and two children, on the day of the crime, they were at his in-laws’ place. Furthermore, Harpreet and his father, who were both security guards, were struggling to make ends meet.
This shocking crime has left the community in disbelief. Neighbours had previously observed frequent disputes within the family. Harpreet’s motive for these murders remains unclear, and more details will emerge as the investigation unfolds. The accused is now in police custody, providing a glimmer of hope for the grieving community.
