Meerut Police on Sunday arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly assaulting and urinating on face of class 12 student over an abrupt argument, in Uttar Pradesh.
The police have identified the accused as Ashish Malik, a resident of Ajanta Colony.
The victim, Rohan (name changed), a 20-year-old who recently completed his class 12 and was preparing for competitive exams, was allegedly assaulted by a group of men on November 13. Rohan was en route to distribute gifts at his relative’s place when the disturbing incident occurred. According to reports, he was accosted by several individuals, among them Ashish Malik, Avi Sharma, Mohit Thakur, Rajan, and three unidentified assailants, all from the same locality.

The incident unfolded within the Medical College police limits in the city. The victim – Rohan sustained severe injuries from being thrashed with a belt and was reportedly urinated on by one of the attackers. The assault left him hospitalized for several days.
Piyush Kumar, SP of Meerut city, stated, “An FIR was lodged following a complaint by the student’s father. The accused have been charged under IPC sections 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation). Ashish Malik, the individual who committed the act of urination, was apprehended on Sunday.”
Elaborating further, the SP mentioned, “During interrogation, the accused admitted to knowing each other and having consumed food and alcohol together on the night of the incident. An altercation ensued among the inebriated individuals, escalating into a violent confrontation. We are actively pursuing the remaining culprits.”
The victim’s father highlighted the traumatic nature of the attack, stating, “My son was held captive in a nearby jungle near Jagriti Vihar. The group recorded a video, which we possess, where my son is seen pleading for mercy while one person urinates on him. The recording also captures others verbally abusing him.”
