According to a statement by defence officials, five army soldiers were swept away in flash floods in eastern Ladakh early Saturday.
Authorities found one body after a T-72 tank, operated by a crew of a junior commissioned officer (JCO) and four other soldiers, sank due to a sudden rise in water levels. The search is ongoing for the remaining four soldiers in the Daulat Beg Oldie and Nyoma-Chushul region near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.
