Bengaluru: A devastating fire broke out at an electric vehicle (EV) showroom on Bengaluru’s Dr. Rajkumar Road on Tuesday evening, claiming the life of a 20-year-old woman and destroying over 45 electric scooters.

How the Incident Unfolded
The blaze, which began at around 5:36 PM, originated in the showroom’s electric bike section, likely due to a short circuit in one of the scooter batteries. The presence of numerous vehicles exacerbated the situation, with explosions adding to the chaos.
The fire was reported to the emergency services control room at 5:36 PM, and within a minute, three fire tenders were dispatched to the site. The flames were eventually brought under control.

Victim Identified as Showroom Staff
The deceased, identified as Priya, a sales executive at the MY EV Store near Navrang Junction, tragically could not escape the burning premises in time. Five other staff members managed to flee to safety.

Fire and rescue teams responded swiftly, and Bengaluru City Traffic Police diverted traffic to secure the area. Residents and shop owners from nearby buildings were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
