Mangalore: Three young women tragically drowned at a private beach resort near Uchila Beach, on the outskirts of Mangalore. The victims, Nishitha M.D. (21), Parvathi S. (20), and Keerthana N. (21), were from Mysuru. The incident took place early this morning at the resort’s swimming pool.
Details of the Incident
The women arrived at the resort the day before and checked into a room. At approximately 8:30 AM today, they decided to take a swim in the pool, which has a depth of up to six feet on one side. Reports suggest that one of the women may have slipped and drowned, and the other two likely followed in an attempt to rescue her.
Investigation Underway
The Ullal police have initiated an investigation into the matter to determine whether there were any lapses in the resort’s safety measures. Authorities are looking into the resort management’s responsibility in the tragic event.

Youth Dies After Fall in Madhya Pradesh Pool
In a separate incident, an 18-year-old boy died in Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh, after falling into a Dolphin swimming pool and drowning. CCTV footage captured the sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
The Sequence of Events
At around 3:57 PM, Aniket was sitting with his legs crossed by the pool. Another youth, who was attempting to jump into the pool, accidentally kicked Aniket in the face. This caused Aniket to fall headfirst into the pool. His friends tried to search for him but were unable to locate him in time. It was only after they informed the swimming pool management that the search continued, though it took a while before Aniket’s body was found.
Delayed Response from Pool Management
Despite the frantic efforts of Aniket’s friends to locate him, it took the pool management a significant amount of time to find his body, which has raised concerns about the response time during such emergencies.
