A six-story building under construction in Babusapalya, north Bengaluru, collapsed on Tuesday around 4 PM, resulting in the deaths of three people. Amid heavy rainfall, rescue teams managed to save three individuals, but around 16 others are feared trapped beneath the debris.

Unapproved Construction Site in Focus

The building, a residential complex, was being constructed without official permissions from the city’s civic authorities. One section of the building collapsed onto a nearby labor shed, further endangering workers inside. This incident has raised serious concerns about safety violations and illegal construction activities in the area.

Immediate Rescue Efforts

Rescue operations were swiftly launched, with Hennur Police, BBMP officials, and fire services arriving on-site. The building’s owner, identified as realtor Munirajju, has gone missing, with authorities unable to reach him since the collapse. Emergency teams are working to locate and rescue those still trapped inside.

Difficult Conditions for Rescuers

Rescue efforts are being hampered by heavy rains and traffic in the surrounding area, making it difficult for teams to access the site quickly. Families of the trapped workers are desperately waiting for updates, urging authorities to expedite the rescue operations to save their loved ones.
