Prahalad, a five-year-old boy who fell into a borewell in Paraliya village under Dug police station limits in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district, was found dead early in the morning on Monday after a 16-hour-long rescue operation.
The child is the son of one Kalulal Bagariya. He accidentally fell into the 12-inch-wide borewell near his home around 1:15 pm on a Sunday while his parents worked the field. After tumbling down the 32 feet, he was trapped and could be heard for a while longer after the fall.

The dead boy's body was recovered around 4 am when a local improvised hook device was used. Local SDM confirmed his death, and a medical team at the site pronounced him dead after examination.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaiprakash Atal said the postmortem examination was going on. The borewell, which is more than 200 feet deep, was dug two days ago and was closed after finding out there was no water.
He fell while sitting on a stone slab covering the open end where the borewell collapsed. A case of accidental death is being registered on the complaint of the boy's parents, under section 194 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
